In September 2026, the Guires family came together to celebrate Vinayagar Chaturthi, the festival honouring Lord Vinayagar (Ganesha), revered as the remover of obstacles and the lord of wisdom and new beginnings. For an organisation whose work is built on knowledge, research and fresh ideas, the festival carries a special meaning.
The office was beautifully prepared for the occasion. A garlanded idol of Lord Vinayagar was placed at the heart of the celebration, adorned with fresh marigolds, jasmine and roses, and surrounded by traditional brass lamps, fruits, coconut and modak, the sweet offering associated with the festival.
The celebration began with the lighting of the kuthuvilakku, followed by a traditional pooja. Prayers were offered for wisdom in every decision, success in every project, and prosperity and wellbeing for all colleagues and their families, and for the clients and partners who place their trust in Guires.
Every good beginning deserves a blessing. We pray that wisdom guides our work and that obstacles are cleared for our clients, our partners and our people.
Colleagues from across our teams, many dressed in traditional attire, joined the prayers and shared the prasadam and festive sweets afterwards. It was a moment to pause from the pace of daily work, give thanks and reconnect as one Guires family.
Lord Vinayagar is invoked at the start of every important undertaking, and the festival reflects values close to our own: beginning each task with clarity and good intent, approaching challenges with patience and intelligence, and working with integrity so that the results can be trusted.
