In November 2019, as Guires Ltd established its presence in the United Kingdom, our team met with Manchester Science Partnerships (MSP), one of the UK's leading networks of science parks and innovation campuses, to explore opportunities for collaboration with Guires Labs.
MSP is home to a vibrant community of life sciences, health technology and research-led companies, working alongside Manchester's universities and NHS institutions. For Guires, building connections within this ecosystem was an important step in bringing our research, analytics and laboratory services closer to UK and European clients.
During the meeting, Guires delivered a corporate presentation introducing the group and its capabilities: contract research and product development through Guires Labs, including food, nutraceutical and cosmetic science, analytical and microbiological testing, and pilot-scale manufacturing, alongside scientific writing, regulatory and healthcare analytics services through Pubrica and Pepgra.
Science thrives on partnership. Manchester's innovation ecosystem and Guires' research capabilities are a natural fit.
The discussions explored how Guires Labs could support MSP's community of start-ups and scale-ups with cost-effective, high-quality R&D, testing and regulatory support, and how access to MSP's facilities and networks could help Guires grow its UK operations, collaborate on innovation projects and connect with academic and clinical partners.
The meeting was part of a wider programme of engagement in Manchester, alongside MIDAS, the city's inward investment agency, and the Department for International Trade, that helped lay the foundation for Guires' UK journey.
